TACIP Team Visits Hair-plaiting Craftswomen

The Tanzania Arts and Crafts Identification Project (TACIP) team visited the Kariakoo area where hair plaiting is being undertaken by women from different backgrounds. The TACIP team was received with open arms by the women which are in plaiting business to be part of the TACIP project and start getting benefits from this unity.

The TACIP team has vowed to reach each and every craftsmen across the country to enable them to formalize their activities and enable them to be able to get more support and aid from a wide range of stakeholders.

TACIP to Launch eCommerce Platform for Tanzanian Artists

DataVision in collaboration with Tanzania Federations of Crafts and Arts (TAFCA) is making history for the implementation of the Tanzania Arts and Crafts Identification Project (TACIP) which aims at saving the Tanzanian artisans and craftsmen from a wide range of pressing issues that they have been facing for years.

All artists under the TACIP membership – are eligible to receive a wide range of benefits in multiple areas from their daily activities to financial inclusion. In this phase, the TACIP steering team will be focusing its energy in launching the eCommerce platform to enable artists in Tanzania to reach their clients all over the globe and conduct business electronically.

Below is a brief explanation from TAFCA president, Mr. Adrian Nyangamalle on how the eCommerce platform is going to assist the artisans and craftsmen in Tanzania.

The online marketplace platform will enable the artisans and craftsmen in Tanzania to reach new heights as far as markets are concerned, This platform will be integrated with M-Lipa to enable online payments and the funds will be moved directly to the artists account as float/ balance.

kopafasta’s Impact on Financial Inclusion in Bagamoyo

The artisans and craftsmen in Bagamoyo can now have access to financial services via the kopafasta platform which is among the stakeholders in the TACIP project which is implemented by TAFCA in partnership with DataVision International.

Kopafasta offered is linked within the TACIP app to enable instant short term loans straight to the member’s mobile device and the returns are spread out multiple times over a period of 30 Days (1 Month).

The kopafasta team is aiming to spread the service to enable all the artists across the country to be able to receive microloans under the TACIP project, This will raise the socio-economic status of the artisans and craftsmen in the country and enable them to do more in their area of expertise.
