A LOCAL information communication technology company has developed a system that allow people to cast their votes across borders of countries using web applications.
DataVision International recentlyenabled voters from across borders to votefor the contestant of their choice in the just ended reality television series calledMaisha Plus.
“Data Vision International has beenworking with Mai ha Plus team side by side to ensure the technical objectives are also reached. Data Vision team provided data, mobile and web apps which made the voting proces from different countries possible, where viewers could broadcast their views during the TV show,” said Account Manager Emmanuel Kagongo. Mr Kagongo said his company was able to provide a platform that enabled the consolidation of votes from different social voting media such as Maisha Plus website, their facebook page and through a dedicated telephone number.
“We also provided an avenue for viewer across the board to send their opinion through our text messages through Maoni platform. Notwithstanding, we managed to boost the interaction rate between the viewers and the brand through enabling the live SMS
streaming,” Kagongo noted.
Maisha Plus Season 4 entailed a group of young-adults from different countries to reside in a secluded and unknown land (Maisha Plus Village) with no luxury of urban utilities such as power and water which most of contestants were accustomed to.
The contestants were tested upon their abilities to live with their colleagues from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds and how they survived in the mysterious land by being innovative and entrepreneurial.
Also speaking at the event DataVision’s Business Development Manager, Teddy Qirtu said, with full coordination, support and team work between both parties, they managed to ensure that the data, mobile and web strategy was in-line with the Maisha Plus objectives.
“We have decided to offer a brand new laptop (branded) to the 2nd winner of Maisha Plus who turned out to be Hyasinta Hokororo. For the first time ever Maisha Plus Season 4 has managed to gather viewers opinions and votes from different countries within Africa and abroad,” Ms Qirtu said.
