Touching Lives Everyday “Tuko Pamoja” Campaign

The date 16th March 2017 marks a memorable day in our Corporate Social Responsibility Events as it is the day where one of our fellow Tanzanian – a 16 Year Old girl – Mariam arrived back from India for intestinal treatment which took aover 3 Months

The management and staff of DataVision International were deeply touched after hearing Mariam’s story – who has undergone 10 intestinal surgeries with no success of treating the blockages. The management decided to become actively involved in the “Tuko Pamoja – Okoa Maisha ya Mariam” campaign by Dar24 Media which urged Tanzanians and companies to donate for the treatment of the little girl in India.

DataVision International set aside some funds to make sure that we save Mariam’s life who has been suffering for over 5 years without any hope. At the airport – DataVision International representative said that, “We are here today very happy to see MAriam after a 3-Month treatment in India. As you can see she is back in a good health and we are very happy to be part of this campaign”

Foundation in Progress: Getting ready for the UNFPA Contraceptives Survey

It is deeply engraved in our culture of conducting from small to large survey projects for over 15 years. Making sure there is no room for errors and getting it right the first time is our prime objectives which help us to meet the tight deadlines set forward by our clients.

This week, our team of enumerators from Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar are gathered in Dar es Salaam for intense and in-depth training for the upcoming UNFPA Contraceptives Survey. DataVision is subcontracted to conduct survey on the availability and stock-out of contraceptives and maternal health medicines. The focus of the survey was on three outcome indicators in the monitoring and evaluation framework of the GPRHCS which focused on a) Service Delivery Points (SDPs) offering at least three modern methods of contraceptives; b) 7 life-saving maternal/RH medicines ; c) ‘no stock outs’ of contraceptives within last 6 months.

Our research and statistics consultants are going to undertake this survey project using TAPI which allows the client to be able to view the data collection process remotely from a dedicated URL link to our Tikiti Application.

Water & Sanitation: How can Technology Help?

The presence of clean and reliable sources of water is still a huge challenge in developing countries. A substantial amount of people in both rural and urban areas aren’t able to receive clean water from the dedicated institutions. People have to travel long distances (up to 3Miles) to fetch water from natural sources which do not offer water for human consumption.

Such phenomenon leads to a large number of people suffering from epidemic diseases such as Cholera causing high rate of mortality among children. Without Private Entities, Public Entities, NGOs and Donor companies taking action on this, it is projected that by 2020 as many as 135 Million people will die from water-related diseases. (Source: www.africaneeds.org)

At DataVision, we are always thinking of how we can make use of our expertise to solve the Real World Problems and touch everybody’s lives. Our consultants are thinking on ways which we can deploy the power of technology to reach people from both rural and urban areas regarding the hardships of getting reliable sources of water.

The responsible institutions also need to undertake intensive Business Process Improvement (BPI) to boost their efficiency and productivity. The processes in most of these institutions are highly manual making it even more difficult to reach out to all the public in the required time leading to failure to deliver.
