DataVision has been contracted by PSI to undertake the Client Exit interviews for the Private Sector malaria Rapid Diagnostic Test project. The primary objective of the exit interview study is to assess the quality of care provided to patients who seek treatment for febrile illness from participating facilities. Through exit interviews the project will monitor i) the proportion of suspected malaria cases that are tested with RDT; and ii) the proportion of cases testing positive by RDT that receive an appropriate antimalarial treatment. The secondary objectives of the exit interviews are to assess: client informed demand for RDTs; provider adherence to recommended retail prices for RDT services; and provider choice between existing microscopy services (where they exist) and new RDT services for testing clients.
The project deployed the Tikiti Software which deploys Tablet Assisted Personal Interviewing (TAPI) enabling the project to take place in the most accurate and efficient wat possble.
DataVision has been contracted by PSI Tanzania to conduct Exit Interview Studies seek primarily to monitor the project’s expected public health impact, in addition to its market impact at the retail level in eleven Districts of Mbeya, Morogoro and Tanga regions. The potential for public health impact will be measured by considering the project’s impact on quality of care provided by participating facilities and outlets. The specific objective of this quality of care research component is to assess the quality of care provided to patients who seek treatment for febrile illness from participating private sector outlets and facilities in terms of:
i) The proportion of suspected malaria cases that are tested with mRDT
ii) The proportion of cases testing positive by mRDT that receive an appropriate antimalarial treatment.
