    Description:

    DataVision was subscontracted by Development Gateway to implement a real-time, responsive Dashboard for the Ministry of Education of Tanzania and its stakeholders which enabled quick information at their fingertips. With the developed Dashboard, the Ministy of Education and its stakeholders can now quickly make accurate decisions, implement a much more reliable forecast and future planning based on information from the actual data on the ground.
     

    The dashboard enhanced the elements of transparency, good governace and accountability within the Government and its peer staeholders bringing about a steady increase in the overall performance of the Education Sector within the country.

    Description:

    DataVision implemented an Instant Issuance System to Akiba Commercial Bank (ACB) enabling the bank to issue fully functional financial cards upon account opening. Instant issuance System is desined to assist a range of institutions to eradicate the waiting time from the account opening to card retrieval from several days to as sson as the client opens an account.

    Description:

    Afya Microfinance contracted DataVision International to implement a Loan Management Solution for their company which can handle both individual and grouped clients. The system had more than 25 reports to ensure that the management makes the rigt decisions at all times regaring the progress and the actions to be taken.

    Description:

    DataVision was contracted by Proin Promotions to deploy the Votex service found in the goMobile Platform. Votex assisted the Tanzania Movie Talent (TMT) which involves a number of contenstants with an acting talent competing for the big prize. With Votex, TMT audience were able to vote for their best contenstant using a dedicated long code number via mobile devices. Votex enables a high rate of audience engagement enabling brand awareness and interactivity.

    Description:

    Western Union through its marketing agency twenty4 media contracted DataVision International to provide an online lottery platform for their mobile campaign. The campaign encouraged people who use Western Union for money transfer to participate by sending a specific key world and half of the MTCN Number (Found on the receipt) to a promoted long code to stand a chance to win $100.

    Description:

    twenty4 agency, a marketing agency based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania contracted DataVision to provide a mobile campaign platform to conduct a mobile raffle for people who receive money with Western Union. The campaign tool place in a period of three month where the Western Union clients send the 5 digit MTCN number to the dedicated phone number with a keyword "Pokea Zaidi". The raffle is done using the goMobile Platform picking 20 lucky winners.

    Kariakoo Digital (www.kariakootz.com), an online platform which unites all the business owners within the Kariakoo area to their clients within and outsdie of the country has started using SMS Mtandao to reach their clients in a more efficient way.

    SMS Mtandao is assisting Kariakoo Digital to reach their clients via mobile phone using the Web2SMS technology. This approach presents to them a more affordable and direct approach of marketing and advertising their website in order to maximize the online purchases.

The solution also enabled Tanzania Top Model to attain their database of people who are interested in their service. the database provides the start up point for future events and continuous communication between the two parties.

    Description:

    Tanzania Postal Bank contracted DataVision International/ID Cards Solutions Ltd in provision of football fans club with an identification card which enables members to use banking services involving ticket purchasing for the two biggest teams in Tanzania, Yanga FC and Simba SC.

    The cards are linked to the Umoja Switch services enabling the fans to be able to use the Umoja Switch ATMs all around the country. Also they can be as a form of increasing fans loyalty towards their football team and feeling part and parcel of the team.

    Description:

    HakiElimu contrated DataVision Internation to revamp their system,namely HakiElimu Management Information system (HEMIS). This involved improving and integrating more functions to the former system which covered functions of recording , processing, searching, managing and sgaring/ disseminating data/ information on Friends of Education and Publications.

    Apart from the added functionalitties, DataVision assisted in the integration of HEMIS and the HakiElimu website and activa directory, addition of new modules: Asset Management, SMS Alert Capability, Mail Tracking, Distribution of Publications and Enhancement of functionalities on the administration level

    Description:

    DataVision was contracted by the Foundation for Civil Society to review its website and give it a new look whilst observing a propper match to its core functional requirements and technology

    The assignment involved the integration of the inforrmation system used within civil society with the website platform allowing stakeholders to pull some reports and data from the website. Security of the website and its content was also enhanced achieving maximum protection of critical data from the internal system.

    Assignment: Monitoring and Information Services for Tanzania School Capitation Grants

    Description:

    DataVision was contracted by UK's Department for International Development to undetake the study on Tanzania Capitation Grants system using DataVision's Data Call Centre and also Field Tablet-Based Approach

    The study was meant to ensure release of capitation grants to primary and secondary schools is being ment in a timely manner. The assignment involved interviewing more than 800 respondent including primary and secondary school head teachers, school chairpersons, regional and districts officials handling education sector matters as well as national level stakeholders including ministries officials and donor community.
     

    The study focused on using a strategic cllaboration of telephone, SNS, and digital technology to robustly establisg the extent of receipt of capitation grant funds in the year 2012/2013 and give an indication of what the school could expect to receive according to budgets and its current enrolment. The study comprised of 400 government primary and secondary schools.

    Assignment: TPC Data Cleanup of Personnel and Pension Data

    Description:

    TPC commissioned DataVision to undertake the data cleanup of Personnel and PEnsion Data lasting for the period of twelve years. This assignment involved studyinf the existing digital and paper-based data which was used in the company.

    The initital process was followed up by a development of an application for data application from CanePro to mySQL, data-cleaning data based on validity-checks, and specifications.

    DataVision team f professionals also conducted training to the data cleaning clearks at TPC and supervised the entire project ensurind a smooth and well-organised process.

    Assignment: Design and Development of Opportunity for Youth Employment (OYE) On-line Youth Database

    Description:

    DataVision was contracted by SNV to design and develop an online database dor Opportunities for Youth Employment in Agriculture and Renewable Energy sectors which initially will be deployed in three countries: Tanzania, Rwanda and Mozambique, with all the countries been able to access the system using a dedicated url link.

    The main purpose behind the system is to provide an easy, scalable and flexible way of collecting, storing, retrieval and analusis of collected data for OYE. The system mapped the existing OYE Baseline form to the online database.

    Description:

    Maisha Plus – A reality TV Series involving a group of people from different countries are made to reside in a secluded and unknown land (Maisha Plus Village) with no luxury of urban utilities such as power and water which most of contestants are accustomed to. In this unknown village, the contestants are tested upon their ability to live with people from different cultural and ethnical backgrounds and how to survive in this mysterious land by being innovative and entrepreneurial.

    Our experts assisted in boosting the mobile interactive nature of this show using goMobile (an Inhouse platform with a collection of mobile applications). With goMobile solutions Maisha Plus is able to engage viewers from any where in the world to share their ideas on the show or vote for their favorite contestant via mobile phones.

    The system offers on-line services by managing, creating/ updating and sharing data/ information on Bills, Statutes, Hansards, Members Profiles, Critical Documents and other Parliamentary Related Documents.

     


  • Client: Registrar General of Zanzibar
    Assignment: Design and Development of the Vital Registration

    Description:

    The United Nations Development Progeamme (UNDP) contracted DataVision to offer professional consulting services to Chief Registrar General of Zanzibar to design, develop and install an integrated Vital Registration System.

    The multi-modular system includes functions such as registration of births. deaths, marriages; data management, data sharing, printing of births and death certificates. etc. The system is meant to enhance and add value to the government planning processes.

    Assignment: Design, Development and Implementation of the Priv

    Description:

    Tanzania Private Sector Foundation contracted DataVision to undertake a user requirement analysis, design, and development of the Private Sector Database and revies the existing TPSF static website converting into a dynamic website.

    Among the objectives of the web portal are to enhance the position of the Foundation, facilitate the management of the data relating to the private sector, bossting membership numbers of the foundation, enable the lobbying activities and creation of the objective networking amongst the members.


  • Client: Tanzania Communication Regulatory Authority (TCRA)
    Assignment: Designing and Developing TCRA Management Information System and Integration with the Government Accounting System (epicor)

    Description:

    Upon undertaking regulatory tasks and duties, TCRA realised the need of seamless knowledge and understanding of its customers and stakeholdersin the communication industry. The system which should be implemented was also required to be integrated with Government Accounting System (epicor) toprovide financial data helping the two independent systems havng a toand fro data flow for aggregated reports.

    DataVision managed to assist TCRA in achieving the expected corporate knowledge management capabilitites. This involved: Provision of sustainable, relaible, consistent and controlled pool of data; To enable a quick retrieval, updte, process and analysis; To enable information sharing enabling privileged users to access it and many more features.


  • Client: The Court of Appeal of Tanzania
    Assignment: Establishment of an Online Database for Tanzanian case law reports and legislation

    Description:

    The Court of Appeal of Tanzania funded by BEST under the Commercial Dispute Resolution Component which was being implemented under the auspices of the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs. DataVision Internation was expected to implement an online platform which can help Case Stakeholders to have immediate information on the case reports.

    The assignments included the following tasks: Development and Implementation of an online Tanzanian case law and legislation database; Design of strategy for the judiciary to manage and maintain the database; Setting up of a modernised cataloguing and indexing system for selected pilot lw libraries; and Training provision to law librariand and other court official to administer the online case law and legislation database with modernized cataloguing and indexing system.

    Description:

    EAC contracted a consortiumof DataVision International and Danish Management Group (Denmark) a task to implement a web-based statistical database for EAC PartnerStates.

    The scope of the assignment inluded the development of the user requirements and design (including socio-economic indicators) tobeused as a guideline for implementing a web based statistical database. The envisioned obkjectives of this project was to enhance quality, coverage, timeliness, access, management and comparability of data.

    Assignment: Software Development of a Comprehensive Ministry of Lands Information System (MOLIS)

    Description:

    As part of the modernisaton and digitlising the business processes of the Ministry of Lands and Human Settlements Development (MLHSD) in the verge of meeting their clients expectations, DataVision was contracted to design, develop and implement a comprehensive Ministry of Lands Information System (MOLIS).

    The assignment commenced with indepth study of the used business process and establishing of user requirements and finally the development of system comprising of integrated data modules applicable accross departments namely Land Delivery Services, Surveys and Mapping and Human Settlements Development.

    Assignment: Development of the Agricultural Sector Support and Investment Database

    Description:

    The UN-FAO contracted DataVision to provide technical support to the Agricultural Sector Support Programme (ASDP) to design, develop and install an integrated system for collecting, managing, processing and sharing data/ information on the support and investment in the sector of agriculture.

    The Agricultutal Sector Support and Investment Database (ASSID) serves the purpose of even-planning as well as making the allocation of resources in the sector.

    Geogrphical Information Systes (GIS) and graphics are among the features of the reporting system for ASSIS

    Assignment: Development of the Data management System for Service Providers to Orphans and Vulnerable Children

    Description:
    The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in collaboration with the Family Health International (FHI) contracted DataVision to offer consultancy services to the Social Welfare Department (SWD) to conceptualize, design, develop and implement a data/ information management system for managing and sharing data of Service Providers and services offered/required by Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) countrywide. 
     
    Thus, the system serves the purpose of identifying the existing OVC, required support, targeting and development of sustainable strategies for supporting this disadvantaged group. GIS is an integral feature 
    of the reporting system. 

  • Client: Prime Minister's Office of the United Republic of Tanzania
    Assignment: Development of the Disaster Management Information System
    Expertise: Software Engineering

    Description:
    The Prime Minster’s Office, through the funding of the USAID, contracted DataVision to design and develop an integrated system for managing and sharing data/information on nationwide disasters and available resources for combating disasters. 
     
    The project involved specifying the type of infrastructure necessary to enable efficient accessing as well as updating of information, system installation in all regions of Tanzania Mainland and training of all regional Disaster Focal Persons.

    Assignment: Development of the Electronic Fund Transfer Generation System (EFTgen)

    The Electronic Fund Transfer File Generation System (EFTgen) was developed for purposes of re-engineering the manual processes of managing, storing, converting and analyzing EFT files between the Bank and the Clearing House. It therefore aligns the operations with ICT resulting into increased efficiency, and reducing laborious work on client side. Furthermore, the EFTgen enhances decision making by enhancing the extraction of useful aggregated information

    Description:
    The assignment involved the undertaking of the user requirements for the Membership Database as per NHIF Business Process. 
    Upon the establishement of the database design and development of the the corresponding database in order to facilitate the processes of maintaining the information of the Principal Members of the Fund and their Beneficiaries as well as issuance of the Membership Identification Cards.

    Assignment: Implementation of Access Control and Surveillance System

    Description:

    Bank of Africak subcontracted ID Cards Solutions (Part of DataVision International) to undertake the installation of fully fledged Access Control and Surveillance systems for their outlet using top knotch quality devices.

    The process involved team work between ID Card Solutions Security Professionals and BOA staff to achieve the envisaged solution which enabled multi-level security controls to control the access to critical areas in the outlet.


  • Client: Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania
    Assignment: Development of Resource Tracking System

    Description:
    Through the funding of the UNDP under the project of strengthening Participatory Democratic Systems in Tanzania, DataVision was contracted to develop a system for enabling the process of tracking Government resources as allocated by the Parliament during the budget or minibudget sessions.
     
    The development task involved a full phase of training and system documentation to hasten the adoption of the system within the institution.

    The task involved the design, development, installation and hosting of the website for Parliament of Tanzania. The assignment also involved the content creation and management as well as overall management of the website, which is accessed through http://www.parliament.go.tz.

    The UNDP, through the 2005 Election Basket Fund, extended support to The National Electoral Commission to develop the database driven website for profiling the functions of the Commission, electoral procedures and enabling the on-line broadcasting of the election results.   • Client: Prime Minister's Office of the United Republic of Tanzania
    Assignment: Design, Development, Implementation and Hosting of the Database-driven website for the Prime Minister’s Office - Tanzania

    Description:
    DataVision was contracted by the Prime Minister’s Office to design, develop and host a database-driven website meant to enhance the dissemination of information, tracking and planning of the activities of the Prime Minister and increase awareness of the functions of the Prime Minister’s Office. 

    The Consultancy also covered the development of the web mail service, hosting of emails and maintenance of the system. Among the activities undertaken included undertaking user requirements analysis, designingand coding of the website and web mail system, development and publishing of the website and email system, development of the Content Management System (CMS), supporting the staff to develop the contents, hosting and maintenance of both the Website and email system and training of the webmaster and selected users on updating the website contents.

  • Client: National Electoral Commission of Tanzania (NEC)
    Assignment: Review of Website for the National Electoral Commission of Tanzania (NEC) and Integration with Voters’ Registration Database

    Description:
    Prior to the 2010 general elections, the National Electoral Commission of Tanzania (NEC) contracted DataVision to review its dynamic website, the National Electoral Commission contracted DataVision to review its website for the purpose of improving its layout and including more functionalities as well as integration with other databases. These included the development of the email and SMS module to enable citizens to check-on their registration status via internet and mobile phones. Also, the assignment included the development of the election results and the corresponding integration with the website.

    Description:
    The Office of the Chief Government Statistician (OCGS) of zanzibar, a semi autonomous government department under the Ministry of Finance and Planning of zanzibar, contracted DataVision to develop management systems for staff regulations, financial regulations, procurement guidelines, remuneration package and scheme of service. The assignment was funded by the UNDP.

    Description:

    DataVision International was contracted by JB Belmonte hotels to implement a Payroll Suite which is more focused to the hotel business processes such as Booking,  Customer Relations Management and other features.

    The Payroll package called Payroll Professional is off-the-shelf payroll technology with over 30 important reports which add value to businesses by removing the paperwork and minimizing time for report creation using manual and conventional approaches.


  • Client: Ubungo Lutheran Church
    Assignment: Implementation of Bulk Messaging Platform

    Description:

    The need of cutting costs of printing and other forms of communication in religious institutions is becoming a critical factor. The coventional aproach involves a high level of printing which includes other overheads such as acquiring more employees, transport costs. 

    The institution needed an approach that can assist in passing messages to a large number of their registered members via their mobile phones. SMS Mtandao is the right fit for such situation allowing the manager to have the power of pushing short bulk messages which can be personalized and scheduled

    Description:

    DataVision International was contracted by MuCoBa to implement a messaging platform which has to be integrated to their banking system allowing personalized messages sent to the clients on every transactional instance.

    SMS Banking implementation allowed the clients to track their account transactions and be able to identify and fraud or theft cases instanlty.

    Assignment: Implementation of the Canteen Management System in North Mara Base

    Description:

    DataVision and Partner (ID Cards Solutions LTD) was contracted by Ako Catering Ltd and African Barick Gold implemented the installation of a a fully integrated Canteen Management System which tracks users meal records by using MIFARE cards enabled with NFC technology on the POS. Canteen users are able to tap cards on the POS, which then a receipt is produced to cerify their usage of canteen facilitites.

    Description:

    DataVision and Partner (ID Cards Solutions LTD) was contracted by Ako Catering Ltd and African Barick Gold implemented the installation of a a fully integrated Canteen Management System which tracks users meal records by using MIFARE cards enabled with NFC technology on the POS. Canteen users are able to tap cards on the POS, which then a receipt is produced to cerify their usage of canteen facilitites.

    Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (MOHSW) and Switchboard USA collaboratively contracted DataVision to conduct thee baseline and evaluation survey for the Medical Professionals across Tanzania using Data Call Centre.

    The assignment involved interviewint more than 600 medical personnel in all regions of Tanzania to assess the possibilities of using mobile phone technologies to improve health care and delivery.
